Introduction to Statistics

This module introduces students to concepts such as measurement, variables, and statistical data, and equips them to answer a social science research question using linear statistical models and R.

The course mainly focuses on regression analysis, including model specification and statistical inference, and gives students a basic understanding of the frequentist approach to hypothesis testing. Lab sessions and homework assignments build familiarity with the R statistical programming language.
